Fundraiser for Palestinian Children's Relief - 12 women walking/running in the Taupō Marathon.
Wellington
After 76 years of ongoing violent occupation and apartheid across Palestine, and over eight months of brutal bombardment on Gaza, we wish to inspire meaningful action to support our Palestinian whānau to resist, heal and rebuild on their land.
For them to do so, and to thrive for generations to come, this requires young people to be safe and healthy.
An estimated half of the population displaced within are Gaza children. Over 82,600 people in Gaza have been injured, many critically, in the ongoing siege. This number represents a huge toll on the most vulnerable members of the community. Many of these children are facing critical injuries including loss of limbs, alongside severe malnutrition, and loss of family members.
So, we are walking and running the Taupō Marathon to raise funds for the Ghassan Abu Sittah Childrens Fund./United Palestinian Appeal
"This fund is dedicated to the children of Gaza: providing medical attention to the children who need it the most and helping to relieve the medical sector in Gaza."
"The first initiative for the Fund, under the expert guidance of Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, is the transportation of critically injured children with their caretakers from Palestine to Lebanon, where they can receive the best possible medical, psychological, and social care, before returning home to Palestine where they will continue their recovery."
All funds raised on this page will be donated directly to the fund.
We are a group of 12 women deeply committed to a free Palestine; Dr Ghassan is a highly reputable doctor and humanitarian whose relief fund we have chosen to support.
All funds will be donated to the Ghassan Abu Sittah Childrens Fund/United Palestinian Appeal to provide specialist medical care for critically injured children in Palestine.
