Marathon for Anjana

$6,497 of $6,000 goal
Given by 57 generous donors in 7 weeks

Running our first marathon to raise funds for Anjana's life-saving surgery

Karangahake, Waikato

Paul and I (Sarah) lived in Kolkata, India for 9 years, establishing The Loyal Workshop, a social business that offers alternative employment to women trapped in the sex trade. 4 years ago, we moved back to Aotearoa, and continue to support our Loyal family from afar. Now Prabhat, our new manager needs our help, as his wife Anjana requires life-saving surgery.

On 15th November, Paul and I will run our first ever marathon in Queenstown, to fundraise for Anjana's surgery. Join our support crew, by donating today! And cheer us on to the finish line. Let's do this team!

A message from Prabhat:

I write to you with a heavy heart and deep urgency regarding my wife, Mrs. Anjana Roy, who is currently facing a life-threatening medical crisis.

In December 2024, my wife suffered postpartum complications including acute kidney failure, deep vein thrombosis and recently, gallbladder stones which pierced her gallbladder, causing severe infection. This situation was life-threatening, but by the grace of God her life was spared.

Surgery is now booked for 23rd October 2025, which due to co-morbidities will be extremely high risk. The projected cost is ₹3,00,000 INR (approximately NZD$6,000).

Your contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward covering the medical expenses of this life-saving procedure. Help reunite a young mother with her baby and daughter.

We deeply value your partnership in our moment of need.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Prabhat Roy

We did it!!  17 November 2025

That's right team... we did it! Paul and I ran the Queenstown Marathon on Saturday 15th November, both smashing our personal goals. We've got sore legs and full hearts.

Together we raised $6497 for Anjana's surgery. She's received the surgery, which was complicated, but went well. She's home recovering, feeling super grateful for her life, and for our support.

Thanks to all our cheerleaders. And thanks to all those who partnered with us, to support this family. You lot are the best!!

With love from Sarah and Paul Beisly
