Getting me to the States to compete against the world
Nelson
Running 100 miles in a day can sound like a crazy endeavor. But what an adventure it will be! I have been competing in trail and mountain running at an elite level for a while now. And stepped up to the 100km distance last year with my debt race in CCC at UTMB. I was not satisfied with my performance at CCC, and knew I could do better. I turned my focus to the 2023 Tarawera Ultra Marathon 102km race. And what a race it was! I crossed the line in first place, fighting off a strong competitive international field of female runners.
Winning Tarawera has given me an automatic entry to the Western States 100 mile Endurance Run. It's a big step up from 100km, but I am ready to take it. However, I want to be as prepared as I can be for the race - you don't go into Western States unprepared. So I am planning to head over two months prior to train, heat climatise and give myself the best opportunity to prepare.
The trip is all self-funded so I am looking to raise the total funds needed
I appreciate everyone’s support and can’t wait to show the world what Kiwis are capable of.
Flights, 2 months accommodation in the States, race entry
