Rural Fire Equipment Upgrade

$59 of $12,000 goal

Dronie II is up and flying now we need your help to equip him with a thermal camera so he can be used to his full potential.

Manawatu / Whanganui

Thanks to the previous generosity of our supporters we were able to purchase a upgraded drone nicknamed Dronie II. Thermal systems offer tremendous advantages over just a standard camera. The ability to spot fires burning underground or locate missing persons hidden in scrub all without the several thousand dollar price tag a helicopter would cost per hour. We already use hand held versions to great effect on the fire ground and are read to make the step up to having an aerial platform. This is where we now need your help. We enough backing from the community we can make this vision a reality. Not only minimising hours wasted at fire callouts but also being able to give back to the community by assisting agency's such as search and rescue. Also being added is a ballistic parachute system to ensure that the investment is well protected. Your help is appreciated in any shape or form.

Have a look, at the Facebook page to see some of the imagery Dronie II has produced over his time with us. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656040294668787/
