Rusty's Operation

Hi all,
Rusty has had his successful tie-back operation with a few curve balls thrown in to really test the amazing surgeon Helen!
On Tuesday Rusty was scheduled in for further testing and surgery. In addition to his laryngeal paralysis Rusty was diagnosed with laryngeal collapse stage 1 and a mass around his thyroid. After consulting with the surgeon I decided to go ahead with the surgery while also taking a biopsy of the thyroid tumor since the ultrasound was inconclusive.
Rusty is recovering well and is already experiencing a much improved breathing. We are now awaiting the lab results for the tumor hoping that it is benign and not cancerous.
For the next 4 to 6 weeks he will have to be confined to allow time to heal.
