Sam has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 glioblastoma (terminal brain tumours). We would like to help her make every day count.

Sam has helped so many people during her life, as a friend, family member and in her capacity as an Occupational Therapist. This is now her time in need and she would love your support. Whether you've shared a dance floor with this gorgeous lady, or your recovery was aided by her skills as an OT, Sam would love to know you are out there and have her back.
Sam and her gorgeous partner Niels are currently reeling from this tragic diagnosis. Sam has already undertaken significant neurosurgery to remove one tumour. She is yet to meet with her oncologists to discuss next steps for slowing the remaining inoperable tumours. Through all this they are being inconceivably brave and are 'planning to stuff as much awesome into every hour of everyday' (Sam's words). Let's help them do that - and show them our love while we are at it!
As a close friend of Sam and Niels - I have created this page with their blessing. I saw this as an avenue for an outpouring of both love and practical support for Sam and Niels.
Funds will assist Sam and Niels make life as stress-free, comfortable and full of joy and as possible for the remaining time they have together. This includes both the mundane practicality of bills but also some specific projects such as:
1. Completing their extension
2. Having a kick arse trip to Bali for Niels' 40th
3. Covering lots of time off so Niels can support Sam as much as she needs during this time
4. Having a 'mighty celebration of some sort' (Sam's words)
It is with deep sadness I share the following note from Niels: 21 March 2018
Wednesday 21 March @ 1am, Sam lost her battle with cancer.
Sam past away peacefully full of love.
Sam is free from the pain and suffering.
I love you so much Sam. ❤️
A celebration of Sam's life will be held in Whangamata/Opoutere Easter weekend.
