Today we attended the farewell service of Fiaalii. It was a celebration of his life. Alei spoke beautifully as did Fiaa's parents and Alei's Mother.

To all in attendance thank you for making us welcome. We have worked with Alei for many years and to be there for support meant everything to us.

Today we have been blessed with a beautiful angel.

  • UPDATE ON FIAALII IN SAMOA

      1 December 2017

Hi everyone, firstly thank you so much for being on this page and donating. We are continuing to raise funds for Alei's family. Here is the information that Alei has provided to me as at this morning (Friday 01 December). NB: We are in regular contact numerous times per day.

We are aware of the situation up to this morning at 11am. He has contracted Pneumonia in one lung and the hospital have advised a serious situation.

We have people on the ground in Samoa currently reviewing what options we can assist with including Air Ambulance. However, Alei has confirmed to me that the Doctor has stipulated he is not stable enough to fly home.

Alei and her sister in law have been to the NZ High Commission in Samoa but they have confirmed unable to assist. They have also contacted our New Zealand Prime Minister but I have not heard if any response was received. I today have also emailed Jacinda Ardern directly to see what assistance she can come up with. I will update when I hear back from her.

We are hoping that he will stabilise and fingers are crossed so that we can assist in getting him home for treatment.

He had a heart attack last weekend therefore his heart is weak. He is at a very critical time in Samoa.

We are awaiting more options from our ground floor colleagues in Samoa. We are looking at all options to assist the family.

Please also see the question page regarding information from an Air Ambulance Doctor.
