Help save our beloved Bambi

    Thank you to all contributors again, Bambi is now eating well!

    We opened this page because we were unsure of how long she would need to be at the hospital and if any other medical procedures would be required (She went through continuous fluid therapy, plasma transfusion and biopsy, among others). We also couldn't risk transferring much of our savings from overseas as we're currently in the middle of a long visa application procedure. However, since she has been checked out and is getting proper food now, we have decided to close her page, and any donation gathered up to this point will be used for the hospital bill.

    We will be forever grateful to everyone who supported her through the really difficult times. She has been such a strong girl and now she has the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful views in New Zealand!

    A huge thanks to everyone's contribution again, Bambi has been healing well!

    In the last few days since the esophageal tube placement, she is now able to receive the proper nutrition that accelerated her healing process. Additionally, test results from the fecal analysis and biopsy did not reveal any underlying concern. Apparently, the highest chance this happened is due to a bug that got into her gut and escalated the AHDS.

    Given her improved status, she is now scheduled to be checked out from the hospital tomorrow! The vet also suggested this would be better for her recovery process instead of being cooped up in the hospital. She will still need to be fed through the tube for a while, which can be done from home until her eating habit returns to normal.

    The final hospital bill is $20,700. Therefore, we will leave the donation page open a while longer.

    Thanks to everyone for your generous support!

    Bambi developed sudden jaundice and very low platelets this morning, necessitating a highly risky emergency surgery. Thanks to all the prayers and well-wishes, our brave girl made it through and is now recovering. And the doctors successfully fed her through a new esophageal tube placed in her neck!

    We hope her condition remains stable. The doctors are now examining her biopsy and fecal tests to find the cause. It will take a few more days for the results, and she will remain hospitalized until then.
