Help Save our Historic Warkworth Bandroom

Our band room has stood in Warkworth for generations. Originally a Warkworth school classroom and now over 150 years old, it was moved onto its current site 70 years ago and has since been the home of the Warkworth Brass Band Inc and WBB bigband.nz. For decades it has been a place where music is learned, shared, and celebrated - a hub of creativity and community spirit.

But time has caught up with our beloved historic building. The foundations are sinking, the weatherboards are rotting, and the paint is peeling. Without urgent repairs, we risk losing not only a rehearsal space but also an important piece of Warkworth’s history.

Our plan is to:

- Repile and repair the building so it’s safe for decades to come.

- Restore the weatherboards and repaint it inside and out.

- Add verandas and eaves to protect the structure and provide shelter.

- Beautify the grounds with picnic tables, car parks, concrete access, and floodlighting. A space where music can be shared with the community.

This project will ensure the band room continues to serve the community as a safe, welcoming space for music and events. It will be a place for young musicians to learn, for audiences to gather, and for our band to keep thriving.

Every donation will go directly to the restoration and improvement of the band room. Together we can protect a historic building, keep the music alive, and create a vibrant space for future generations.
