Save NZ's last flying Dominie- join Matt Highsted in the Rickshaw Run adventure over 2,000km's in a 'glorified lawnmower' across India!
Gore, Southland
Join Gore local, Matt Highsted & his team as they cross the expansive terrains of India in a rickshaw, at the annual Rickshaw Run!
Launching 6th September, their journey in the 'glorified lawnmower' takes on thousands of km's (2,364 to be exact) from Jaisalmer to Fort Kochi, reaching top speeds of 55km's (downhill).
Matt is generously donating all proceeds raised from his adventure to the Croydon Aviation Heritage Trust in support of ZK-AKY DH89 Dominie.
Built in 1942 & one of New Zealand's historically significant vintage airliners, it is the only one of its type still flying in NZ. Now it needs some engine work to keep this aircraft flying above Southland.
During Croydon's search for de Havilland aircraft to restore, some of the original de Havilland tooling was found in India & bought back to NZ for use in refurbished aircraft. Now Matt & his team are exploring the same boundaries some of these parts were sourced.
Support their adventure & our de Havilland Dominie today!
Remember 100% of funds donated go to the Trust.
I wish to help the Charity raise money to help their cause
Mechanical repairs to get AKY flying again
