SAVE the ACADEMY of Performance & Arts in Geraldine!

The Academy, since its inception in 2012, has had its home at the St. Mary's Church Hall, in the centre of Geraldine. The St Mary's Church, who owns the Hall, has offered to sell it to us so we can continue to promote performance & visual arts within our own local community. Gaining ownership would insure that we maintain a dedicated hub for the arts, allowing us to continue to be a central, accessible and safe home for our creative community for the future.

There is no other charity, organisation or venue within the Timaru District that solely focuses on the Arts. We are a place where we learn, we explore, we practice, we empower, we build, we create and we participate. Our current home offers a diversity of space, in size, volume and function, has fantastic acoustics, on-site storage facilities for our tutors, our props and costumes as well as a full kitchen and accessible toilets. No other current and central Geraldine venue can offer us what we have, hence the commitment the Academy Committee has made to work towards the purchase of the Hall.

Our overall funding goal is $200,000NZD for the capital purchase of the Hall.
