Let's Join together and raise funds to support people in Kerela who are facing one of the worst natural calamities in nearly 100 years.
Auckland
The state Kerala in India is undergoing one of the worst natural calamities in nearly 100 years. The incessant rains since August 8 have so far claimed 375 lives, with more than 780 thousand people shifted to over 5645 relief camps across the state. There are growing fears that the number of deaths could increase rapidly with countless people still marooned, desperate for food, drinking water and medical supplies. The state has suffered an overall loss of around 3 Billion USD so far. Never before has the state witnessed a calamity of this scale.
So who are we? We are a group of Friends, who are based in Auckland, NZ, working together with a group of volunteers in Bangalore. We all have families that are directly affected by the flooding and therefore feel the pain and distress.
The funds raised through this effort will directly go to a non-profit who are working tirelessly at the grass-root level to contain the damage from this unprecedented deluge and provide basic necessities and medical supplies to the victims.
“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
Every penny counts so we kindly ask you to donate to this cause.
Also, please share this with all your friends and family and let them know you are in this with us. Thank you!
Collecting Money to send overseas that would go towards buying food, water and medical supplies to all people affected in the Kerela Floods and Landslides. Friends and Family back home have set up funds that buy supplies each week and transport them the many of the affected areas
