Kambi the Therapy Dog spends his life giving Whangarei's in need kids cuddles, now his life is on the line and he needs your help.
Northland
Kambi is a specialised therapy dog and spends much of his time helping bring some light into the life of children in need. He's a regular fixture at the Whangarei Hospital children's ward and often brings smiles to the faces of children that are in the court system.
Kambi is only 8 years old, but has suffered a terrible injury to both his back legs. Basically both his Cruciate ligaments have been severed. This means that running is out of the question for him and even walking and sitting are hugely painful for him.
It's dreadfully heartbreaking to watch him struggling in pain, especially when he has given so much to others. Kambi's condition can be cured and his pain can be permanently resolved through surgery. However the cost of the surgery is 6,000 and beyond the ordinary means of his lovely and dedicated owner. Without surgery, his owner is faced with a devastating life and death decision in order to do the best by Kambi.
We're involved in helping out Kambi and his owner because he's an important part of our community.
Please donate to help save Kambi, so he can continue to share his hugs and kisses with those that need it. For a little dog that has given so much to his community, it is surely only right.
Funds raised here will go directly to fund our Kambi's surgery.
Thank You to all the wonderful people out there 11 September 2017
A huge heartfelt thank-you to all the wonderful people who have so generously given money for Kambi's operation!
He is mending well from the first operation... and walking quite well for someone with 2 plates and 15 screws in his leg.
Today we are seeing the local vet and he does not know it but is getting one of those dreadful Elizabethan collars to make sure he does not lick his stitches which can come out in 10 days.
Many thanks to all you wonderful people. :-)
