The Pacemaker Trust launched today World Heart Day in New Zealand. It has formed a partnership with the University of Michigan to send our used pacemakers to them for reuse in these countries

Philippines, Pakistan, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Nicaragua.

Your donation will enable us to collect, steralise and test used pacemakers to reuse them in poor countries -instead of going to the dump

The Pacemaker Trust locally will collect , and fund the steralising and testing of each unit .

This could be the smartest piece of recyling you'll ever see!

Help us get started , your donation will see someone who needs pacemaker actually receive one . You've saved a life

The Pacemaker Trust NZ launches on World Heart Day Sept 29th to start communicating across our funeral industry to send us removed pacemakers instead of sending them to the dump. They must be removed from our deceased if they are going to be cremated , which is around 70% of us .They cannot be reused in New Zealand .

About us

Everyday we send our used pacemakers to the dump. And everyday people in developing counties die from preventable heart disorders because pacemakers cost over US$5,000 for the patient to pay

NOW we can send our pacemakers to poor countries to be reused and save another life. This is possibly the smartest piece of recycling we've ever seen. The Pacemaker Trust partners with My Heart Your Heart at the University of Michigan to acheive this....help us make this possible. We need your donation to fund collecting , testing and steralising New Zealand's used pacemakers ....and know you've enabled a health innovation that's new to the world and will save lives.
