Help Save Darcy's Teeth. We need to raise funds to get Darcy's Orthodontic Treatment.

Darcy is a High School student who is keen on sport, he plays rugby and does a little boxing. He is is a good student and currently is working towards a Calculus Scholarship. He hopes to join the Airforce and become a pilot and has been working hard at school towards this.

His teeth have grown worse through these teenage years - it does run in the family but Darcy seems to have got the worst of it. His back teeth are so misaligned as to not be meeting, and therefore not able to chew properly. The front teeth are very overcrowded and really detract from his handsome face. He is very self conscious and never shows his teeth in photos.

The orthodontist has quoted around $8,000 for the corrective treatment.

He is one of my eight grandchildren and I love him dearly and would pay for the treatment if I could. Cathy his mum, my daughter, is a hardworking lady. she has four children, 3 of whom she supports on her own, working full-time. She was thinking of going into debt to pay for Darcy's treatment but I think that is such a bad idea with interest payments and all - plus there is no spare cash from her wages for the repayments.

To get started we need a deposit of $1800 and the balance will be paid over the course of the treatment - so will keep the page open and people can donate over time. All help is very much appreciated.

I am Darcy's grandmother and Cathy is my daughter. Cathy is a solo mum working but not earning big money and this is an expense that none of us can cope with alone. Darcy is a lovely boy and the treatment is not for cosmetic purposes - his teeth are so misaligned that he cannot chew properly.

Use of funds

To pay the orthodontist bill. If there is any surplus if we exceed the target it will be donated to a childrens charity.

Great year for Darcy at School 13 December 2018

Darcy has gotten used to the braces and looking forward to his teeth finally being straight. It is a long haul! Meanwhile he has had a brilliant year in school, studying hard and playing hard, He came top in Physics and Maths. I hear he shone at Calculus - awesome!

Darcy's parents are also contributing privately, so the total required to raise is coming down a bit but I'm not sure I can alter it now. In a couple of months I will update you all on the total.

We just want to say a HUGE thank you for all who have supported. This is a really big deal and his family are so grateful to be able to get his teeth fixed at this early age when it makes such a different.

And to Darcy we want to say - We love you! Keep on being awesome...
