We are frantic all year round rather than just during kitten season, because we take in the oldies and the frail cats. We will never knock back an animal in need because of the expense involved in giving them a chance at a long, happy and healthy life as part of a loving family.
At the moment we desperately need help to cover our vet bills. Every donation goes a long way to help the lives of those who can not speak for themselves.
For example, during kitten season these tiny bodies are dumped flea ridden and fading in the hot sun in bus shelters. They are an inconvenience for some people who just 'want to get rid' of them.
This means many come to us with cat flu, upset tummies from a poor diet, giardia from contaminated water, covered in fleas and have a severe worm burden.
This is the sad reality of rescue. It breaks our heart - but we do whatever we can to save these tiny lives.
Any donation towards CatsnCare would be greatly appreciated to help us to continue doing what we do.
Thank you for taking the time to read our Givealittle page.
CatsnCare was founded early in 2011 by Helen Stancliffe to care for and re-home stray, abandoned and abused cats and kittens throughout the Hibiscus Coast area. The activities of this fledgling non-profit organisation are coordinated by a small but enthusiastic collective who welcome input from anyone with similar ideals. CatsnCare is all about local support for local cats and kittens.
Prior to joining their new families, all cats and kittens are vet and behaviour checked, desexed, defleaed, wormed and microchipped. They are also given their first flu vaccination with a booster being required a month later and yearly thereafter. If you are fortunate enough to be adopted by one of our cats or kittens :-) then we request a $75 donation for a cat and $150 donation for a kitten in order to assist us with helping other cats in need.
As an additional service, Helen is a registered microchipper so we can also offer locals microchipping at the heavily discounted cost of $50 which includes the cost of lifelong registration of your cat or kitten on the NZ Companion Animal Register.
It is our aim to always ensure a win-win outcome, that is we endeavour to provide potential adopters with as much information about the cats and kittens under our care so that they can make an informed choice. We are fortunate to have Pet'nSur's support in this - they will provide 30 days pet insurance free of charge to all CatsnCare kittens.
