Dr. Rajpal dedicated over 45 years to saving lives, let us continue his legacy.
Nationwide
Dr. Harish Rajpal was a leading visionary in Health Care for New Zealand. A truly humble, implacably honest, caring and compassionate man. From 1970, Harish gave over 45 years of his life to support and build the invaluable mission of MedicAlert Foundation saving lives and preventing harm, without any monetary compensation whatsoever, whilst advocating for better health care systems and services.
MedicAlert Foundation and the family of Dr. Rajpal have established and seeded a new Scholarship Fund continuing Harish’s passion in life and in retirement. The purpose of the fund is to provide a Scholarship Program to support outstanding candidates, working and advocating for the prevention of harm. Our intent is to raise money that will in time be enough to establish a perpetual scholarship fund that will financially support the scholarship program long into the future.
Recently the Foundation was independently assessed by PWC to be benefiting the community by 38 million dollars every year through reduced harm, reduced health service costs and saved lives. Avoidable harm is estimated to be costing the New Zealand Government seven hundred million dollars every year.
Established in 1962, MedicAlert® has been saving lives for over 55 years. We support our community of members, who have day to day problems associated with protecting their personal health and welfare, and help prevent avoidable harm from occurring.
Avoidable harm can profoundly undermine a person’s entire future quality of life and their capacity to earn an income.
