Sean Wainui was an incredible rugby player, father, husband and proud of his Māori heritage. He epitomized what it was to be a Chief for our club. At 25 years old, he had played top level rugby for the Gallagher Chiefs, Crusaders, Māori All Blacks, NZ U20s and provincially for the Taranaki Bulls and most recently the Bay of Plenty Steamers. Sean was tragically taken from us too soon in a car accident. His wife Paige and beautiful children Kawariki and Arahia are part of our Whānau, and with the outpouring of love from the rugby world and fans both nationally and internationally, our Club wanted to set up a way we can all contribute to Sean’s family in this difficult time.
Once a Chief, always a Chief.
Sean was Chief #294 and we want to support Paige, Kawariki and Arahia during this difficult time.
All proceeds will go directly to Sean's wife Paige Wainui and their children Kawariki and Arahia to help with the coming expenses.
