Second Time in Battle with Cancer

Last year in October my brother Gerald, a resident of Cebu City Philippines was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tongue that had spread to lymph nodes on his neck. He had surgery on his left tongue and neck and have completed 30 sessions of radiation at the end of January. However remains on regular checks to monitor treatment success. Gerald continue to suffer in pain as a side effect of Radiation. This then affects his ADLs including work which resorted to Gerard having to work from home due to his conditon.

On May 8, last week when he came to visit his doctor for a check and another concern was raised as the doctor noticed his neck was swollen. He was urgently sent for a CT scan then.

On May 10, on his wife's birthday, he got the devastating news that his cancer was back. He was advised that cancer involving head and neck is quite tricky to treat and he was referred to another oncologist who specialises on Chemotherapy.

On May 11 he was advised that since his cancer is aggressive the treatment should also be aggressive thereby plan includes to combine Immunologic plus 3 Chemo Drugs given all together to beat this nasty cancer.

Cancer treatment in Philippines is not subsidised by the government and is costly. We have used all our resources from his previous surgery and treatment thus I am asking for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses.

This is his last resort and we remain hopeful, please help his young family. Your prayers are also appreciated.
