We have landed in Croatia for 2 weeks of isolation before we can enter Monaco! Huge thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far! It's not over, we still need to buy flights into France, train tickets and a few nights in Nice! We can't believe it that we've got this far, thank you again!

Hi everyone, we are frantically planning our trip to the premiere! Travel restrictions are stringent at the moment, especially as we are flying from South Africa. As we might not be able to get a travel exemption to fly directly to France (followed by 7 days of self-isolation), we would need to spend an isolation time in one of the countries France is currently letting in! A few candidates proved too hard to get to and leave from, like Rwanda and North Macedonia. Some places had too strict regulations, like government quarantine in South Korea and Turkey. Some countries just won't let us in first, like Greece, Bulgaria and Austria.
The current front runner is now Croatia for self-isolation as they especially welcome New Zealand citizens! Then it would be an incredible 10-hour drive or 5-hour flight from Croatia to Monaco! Plan B is getting a travel exemption to enter France for 7 days of self-isolation in Nice. It doesn't sound that bad, but we will be stuck in a small hotel room room! We have been anxiously waiting for the embassies to open on Monday morning.

We are about a quarter funded so far; not being able to stay with friends in one of our first choice European countries has pushed the whole trip budget up as we now need to pay for our isolation period too!
