School age programmers to compete against the world with your help
Auckland
NZOI selects a team of 4 school students annually to compete against the rest of the world at an international event annually. This year the students travel to Hungary, along with 2 leaders.
These students have competed in 4 selection exams against the best competitive programmers in NZ schools to make the team. But its an expensive trip.
In the past students have been almost exclusively funded by the Royal Society. With Covid and a change of direction within MBIE and the Royal Society, they will only be partially funded this year. While this is an enormous help, more money is required. If you can help with a dollar or more, please do!
a) Provide training opportunities in informatics to NZ
students currently enrolled in school.
b) To select students for the International Olympiad in Informatics and the EGOI
c) To foster informatics (programming) in high schools
Fares to the International Olympiad in Informatics for the 4 high school students and 2 leaders.
The students are chosen from a group attending a summer camp. The photo is an evening lecture.
