I sew drawstring bags for the Children of Starship Hospital for them to use as the wish. A simple gift that means a lot to the Kids
Otago
I work full time but in my spare time I love to make drawstring bags for the Children of Starship Hospital.
These are used as toilet bags, pencil cases, somewhere to keep their Beads of Courage safe, phone and tablet bags, medications, or just a sleeping bag for teddy or dolly.
These have been well received by the children, caregivers, nursing staff, and play therapists. And because of this I have now been asked if I can sew 200 large bags in time for Christmas.
These will be given out to the kids on Christmas Day, filled with goodies donated to Starship.
But in order for me to accomplish this I now require funds to purchase the 140 metres of fabric needed to sew these bags.
Up until now I have purchased the fabric myself and received donations of fabric from a local craft group to make the small bags pictured.
Now I Need Your Help!
I will need to get started as soon as possible in order to fill the request and would be thrilled if you would help put a smile on the faces of the children at Christmas time, a day when they can forget their troubles.
Please give as much or as little as you can - every bit helps and will make the Starship Children very happy this Christmas.
Thank you.
I am a Guardian Angel for the Starship Foundation and l get satisfaction in knowing I am doing my little bit for the Children by being a financial supporter and a sewer for Starship Hospital.
Funds will be used to purchase 140 metres of Christmas themed fabric, thread and cord to make 200 Large Bags for the Children of Starship Hospital this Christmas.
I really appreciate your donation :) Many thanks!
