Shane's Story - Making Every Moment Count

  • Quick update

      3 October 2025

It’s been a real rollercoaster over the past couple of months. After his operation to relieve pressure, Shane’s headaches subsided, which was a huge relief. Since then, he has battled through an infection and has now had two treatments of Avastin. The good news is that it seems to be helping with the tumour, and he’s had a bit more energy.

That said, there are side effects. This past week Shane has experienced high temperatures and some very severe headaches again. It’s been tough, but he continues to fight with incredible strength.

We’re so grateful for all the love, support, and kindness we’ve received along the way—it truly makes a difference. Thank you for standing beside Shane and our family on this journey.

Thank you to everyone for your support we so very grateful ❤️ We had an amazing 2 week trip to the South Island.. lots of memories made. On return Shane was admitted to Waikato hospital to relieve the pressure the tumor is causing. The surgery went well. We also found out he has extremely rare blood 1 in a million. In the next week or two Shane will start his treatment.
