Sharon is going with Esther’s Voice to Cambodia to help against the child sex trade, give value to women, hygiene packs & teaching material.
Bay of Plenty
"These girls courageously fight their attackers, they will fight their rapists, but it’s so much harder for them to fight the voice of their mothers”.
Every year as many as 100,000 girls, as young as 4 years old, are sold into sexual slavery. Alarmingly, most are sold by people they know and trust. Current statistics also reveal that more than 80% of rescued girls will return to prostitution.
Sharon would like to be part of making a difference to these statistics, and change lives and generations. Esther’s Voice was started up to do that and work with NGO’s over there and work directly with villages to help break mind and cultural beliefs around girls & sex.
This trip has two parts to it. Firstly to teach the women - mothers and daughters that they have value and can help break the cycles of abuse. We will teach and give hope to the girls.
Secondly, to the husbands and wives, what a healthy relationship looks like (not including other young girls).
Sharon will also be helping teach the kids while their parents attend sessions. There is the opportunity to take basic english letters books for the kids.
We will be creating hygiene packs; wash cloths, soap, toothbrush & paste, shampoo, electrolyte sachets and head lice destruction kits, a sarong & a Bible. Head lice is a huge problem over there and we will be giving away 500 packs at the two villages we work with.
If you would like to contribute towards these packs and books this would be great.
At Bullseye Productions NZ we are proud to support Sharon in her fundraising efforts to go to Cambodia to work with Kubala Ministries & Esther's Voice. We know that Sharon is passionate about marriage and families and will bring a life-changing presence to the community that she will be working with.
Funds raised will go towards Sharon's costs to get there or you can request that it goes towards the hygiene packs & books.
