  • It’s definitely a journey!

Sorry been awhile between updates, been super busy with Alexia and Sophie. 🥰

if you want more frequent update from the horses mouth, I suggest you join ‘Shayna’s health journey’ FB page.

Shayna has been pretty unwell and spewing up bile everyday. Her stomach and bowels have basically just gone to sleep after surgery and she just have to wait for them to wake up.

She’s still in quite a bit of pain, especially when vomiting/hiccups/ burps.

She still hasn’t eaten properly nor has she got an appetite. They put in a new feeding tube the other day and and she is having IV nutrients to try boost her nutrition.

Shayna has also had a blood transfusion due to her blood thinning out and is harder for the body to move oxygen around the body so it's required some extra red blood cells to help out.

    On the plus side…

Her blood sugars are still under control - so no diabetes at this stage.

Her kidneys haven’t been affected 👏🏼

And her scar is healing very nicely!

Thank you to everyone for the kind thoughts and words and donations, we appreciate you all very much 🥰❤️‍🩹💕

Thanks Danielle. We appreciate your updates whenever you are able to as we understand that you are very busy with the girls, alongside trying your best to continue looking after your own health. You're a legend!! 🥰

  • Rough couple of days!

      7 October 2023

*EDIT (from last post) the pancreas is attached LOL but may or may not continue to work.

Shayna had a rough day Wednesday when she started to feel overcome with pain. Turned out her epidural was kinked, so they ended up just giving her a big concoction of pain meds, which did not go well.

They have now fixed all the issues and is managing her pain. She has been up walking, eating little bits (also has a feeding tube) and drinking a lot!

Would just like to thank every single one of you for your very generous donations, every cent helps and shayna and her family appreciate it immensely! Thank you

Shayna has had her surgery, all went as it should, and she is now recovering. She had an epidural before going under for pain, her pancreas was too small to reattach, so they have just left it ‘floating’ in the hopes it continues to work so shayna doesn’t develop diabetes. She is managing pain, and has drank about 3L of water since surgery!!
