NZCCA provides regional children's choirs, development for emerging choral leaders and outreach into the community

Auckland

Kids need choirs and we need you!

After an amazing first year, we've hit a funding shortfall right on Christmas! The whānau of our wonderful children help by paying fees, and we have grant applications in place but they won't come through until next year, so we're asking for your help to top-up our funding to get us to February next year! Can you grant us a Christmas wish and keep our choirs singing?

Singing in choirs is a superpower for kids - exploring musicianship, helping them with literacy, numeracy, focus and a strong sense of self. Best of all singing in choirs is fun, it helps build confidence, creativity and can spark a lifelong passion for music.

Anyone who has sung in a choir knows that it brings connection, joy and can reduce loneliness and social isolation. Our mission is to enable every child in Aotearoa to experience choral singing from a young age - that way we can help set kids on a pathway to joining the best choirs in the world!

About us

New Zealand Children's Choral Academy's vision is to enable the choral community in Aotearoa, so that all children nationwide have the chance to sing and work with teachers and conductors who share inspiring choral expertise.

Use of funds

We will use donated funds to cover the costs of our end of year activities and our outreach programme in January

A feature on national TV, and a plea to share our page  20 December 2023

Thank you so much for your continued support of the New Zealand Children's Choral Academy!

We had a fantastic time last Friday morning as we featured on the Christmas edition of the AM Show from 6am-9am. It was great fun being in the studio with the team, and singing Christmas carols as the intro after each ad break. We even had comedian Sam Smith unexpectedly join us! He was a panelist on the show, but also knows Elise Bradley from her time at Westlake Girls, when he was a student at Westlake Boys. He was so excited to sing again - a great moment that shows the power of choral singing in a person's life!

We are so blessed to be just over halfway to our goal of $20,000 to cover us during our funding shortfall. You have made such a difference already and we would really appreciate it if you would share our Givealittle page with your friends and family, perhaps saying something like "I've been a Christmas angel and donated to support the New Zealand Children's Choral Academy - can you help them this festive season too?"

Meri Kirihimete NZCCA supporters and thank you for your generosity in supporting us!
