Skye's Gender-Affirming Surgery Fund

Hi I'm Skye, living in Auckland, New Zealand. I am taking the next step in my transition journey and getting bottom surgery. I have been medically transitioning for several years and am now at a point where I am ready and wanting to undergo this procedure.

The daily struggle with dysphoria is difficult and taking action to alleviate that and provide myself with some euphoria in it's place is something I'm really excited to do. Coming out and living openly in my identity as a trans woman has been incredibly beneficial for my mental health. All of the different aspects like hormone treatment, social acceptance and changing my name just to list a few have brought me closer and closer to feeling that my body and how I am perceived is more aligned with how I feel inside.

Bottom surgery is a huge step and very scary but will do a lot to help me continue my transition towards the woman I know I am and the most authentic version of myself. Unfortunately, to pursue this involves a steep financial cost.

One of the most accessible and reliable places for this surgery is in Thailand, where I will be going to the PAI clinic with Dr Burin. It is about a third of the cost to travel to Bangkok and get the surgery compared to NZ and has a much shorter wait time for getting the surgery as well.
