Give Maz the smile she needs!!!

I thought I would take a few minutes to let you all know HOW I know Maz. We met last year in October while both volunteering for Weta Workshop as a part of 'Project Born' (a show that raises money for the Neonatal Trust) - Maz was painting the aerialists and I was a performer in the last act of the 2012 show (I was in the last act of the first half of the 2010 show as well but this was her first time as part of the show). Maz and her husband Russell moved down to Wellington shortly after doing the show and we all started having weekly dinners and hanging out... then, with an awful twist of fate, the flat they moved into down here turned out to be a bust (the head tenant was spending their rent instead of paying it to the landlord!) and they needed somewhere to live. My husband and I decided to let Maz & Russell move in with us (actually into the room that I work from, so I have gone without work and income for quite a while!) in January and now, over 2 months later, they are finally almost ready to move into a new place. While they have been staying with us I inquired as to what happened to Maz's teeth - when I found out, I was even more determined to help her get them fixed! How horrible to have lived like that since a child :( And now, here we are - at give a little :)

A lot of people have been very judgemental about this endeavour - labelling Maz as someone who doesn't care for her teeth or some such other nonsense :( I have had a lot of negative feedback, which is not very encouraging :( This is not a simple ""lack of care"" issue - an accident as a child left Maz with broken teeth, which should have been rectified at the time but wasn't, and then a lack of care from her parents let the rest happen... I simply wish for people to be generous to help her get the smile that matches her incredible personality and amazing talent - beautiful, sparkly and stunning!
