  • 2020 Documentary Update

    In 2018 and 2019 you very kindly donated to the editing cost of Somersaults Over Rice Fields, the documentary about Sreyleak and Chanty the two circus students in Battambang Cambodia. Thank you very much for your support and commitment towards this project. I've copy and pasted the video link to refresh your memory.

    Unfortunately the editing suffered a few setbacks which has meant I have been unable to complete the editing of the film which sits heavily on my heart. I have the money that was raised set aside and have been pondering what to do and so as you contributed I would like to ask you.

    We are currently globally in a very uncertain time. I have seen social media posts from the students in the circus school including Chanty and Sreyleak informing that the cirus and the circus school have been forced to close down due to the risk within Cambodia of Corona Virus and we all realise that the travel sector is severely effected. Chanty has further mentioned that now they have no income they fear they will not have a way to buy their staples, including rice. These students live day to day.

    We are all in a period we are unsure what will happen and how long this will go on for and if we will be able to support our families. What would you like me to do with the money that you donated to the project?

    Would you like to:

    a) Refund the money to you? If yes please supply me your bank account via email (skyelclark@gmail.com)

    b) Donate the money to Sreyleak and Chanty – so that they can support themselves over this troubling time.

    c) Donate the money to the Circus School who support many children and families.

    Please email me with what you would like to do with your donation by 10th August 2020 - skyelclark@gmail.com.

    If I have not heard from you by this date I will assume that you would like the money to be donated to either the circus school or to the Sreyleak and Chanty.

    I pray that you are all in good health and close to the people that you love during this time.

  • February 2019 update!

    Somersaults Over Rice Fields is progressing really well. Thank you everybody for your support and well wishes!

    Two pieces of great news are...

    The Phare Creative Suite in Battambang are going to be working with us in different aspects of the post production! Great that we can work with Cambodian locals in finishing the film

    And the other wonderful news is we have secured a very talented and creative Editor to work on finishing the film with me - who is available to start in June! I've worked with this editor before and I feel that Chanty and Sreyleak's story is in safe hands! She creates beautiful emotive and authentic work in the edit suite!

    Another great thing about the editing starting in June is it gives a little bit longer for the fundraising to help cover the costs. We have done well so far and are so thankful for all of you who believe in the power of this story.

    We are always looking for new ways to fundraise to cover the costs of the post production, if you have any ideas please contact us. This may be items to auction or raffle off or being alerted to organisations that may promote the film that we are making.

    Every time I look at the footage of Sreyleak and Chanty I feel so blessed that I can work on this not for profit project to help this amazing Not for Profit organisation in Cambodia helping thousands of children in their area and also regenerating the arts that had been wiped out. I definitely feel blessed.
