HELP CUBA: Emergency COVID19 relief for Cuban families

I am a Cuban woman living in New Zealand, wanting to raise funds to help alleviate the desperate situation many Cuban families find themselves in right now.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CUBA?

- The COVID 19 crisis is getting worse with exponential growth in the curve of daily confirmed cases. The significant increase in serious / critical cases is putting the hospital system at the verge of collapse.

- At the same time a deep economic crisis is making it extremely hard for families to stay at home and stay safe. There is a critical shortage of basic supplies like food, medicine and hygiene products. Families are standing in crowded lines for hours, often to find nothing but empty shelves in the supermarket. The situation is specially dire for elders, disabled people and families with small children

At the moment many basic products are only accessible through online stores with high prices in foreign currency. These are designed for Cubans who live abroad to provide for their families in Cuba. Those who do not have access, struggle to get the basics.

HOW WILL THESE FUNDS BENEFIT CUBAN FAMILIES?

All of the money raised will go towards buying food, medicines and hygiene products for high-need Cuban families. I will buy supplies online and distribute it to those in need, either directly or through existing networks and organizations. My friends in Cuba are already mobilizing whatever resources they have to help, your donation will enable them to reach more people and provide more help.

HOW DO I KNOW THE FUNDS ARE BEING USED AS INTENDED?

I will make receipts available through the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sos.cubanfamilies. I will publish in detail how the funds have been used and how many families have been impacted.
