Supporting the ongoing shortage of Medical Equipment in Sri Lanka
Auckland CBD, Auckland
ALSA with the help of Sri Lankan Medical Students at UoA have collectively been seeking means to support the ongoing shortage of medical equipment in Sri Lanka, especially for neonatal and paediatric care.
We have decided to donate all of these proceeds to the Australia Sri Lankan Medical Aid Team (AUSLMAT: https://auslmat.org/) who will be able to provide the necessary help. They are an established medical aid team have been travelling to Sri Lanka since 2004 annually to transport medical equipment/medications to support the SL Healthcare system.
For this current crisis the plan of AUSLMAT is to purchase medical equipment as per the list of urgently required medicine publised by the Medical Supplies division and air-freight them to Sri Lanka. All items will be sent to individual hospitals with critical needs, and the President of the Sri Lankan Medical Association (Prof. Samath Dharmaratne) having agreed to take the responsibility of overlooking the distribution of the supplies locally.
AUSLMAT is an ACNC registered not-for-profit medical charity in Australia.
All proceeds will be donated to the Australia Sri Lankan Medical Aid Team (AUSLMAT)
