Play is such an important part of growing, it supports wellbeing. Every $ raised helps us create a better space for our tamariki to play.

Johnsonville, Wellington

Welcome to our Read‑A‑Thon fundraiser!

Over the next few weeks, our students will be diving into books to help raise funds to improve our school playground.

What is a Read-A-Thon?

It is a reading-based fundraiser where students set a reading goal and read as many books as they can within 3 weeks to raise money. The money comes from family, friends and other community members who sponsor them to participate in the Read-A-Thon.

How can I support?

- Donate a flat amount (e.g., $20 total) or sponsor a per-unit amount e.g. per minute, book or chapter/page.

- General donations can be given towards our fundraiser if you don't have a specific child/whānau you are supporting.

When and how do I pay?

Students will be working toward their reading goal and logging their progress between Monday 28 July - Friday 15 August. We ask that sponsorship is then collected and paid between 15 - 22 August with all payments made by 22 August. Sponsorship can be paid online right here through Givealittle, or by giving cash to the student/whānau you are supporting to hand into the School office.

What will by sponsorship go towards?

Play is such an important part of learning and growing - it supports creativity, confidence, friendships, and overall wellbeing. Every dollar raised helps us create a better space for our tamariki to play, explore and thrive. Money raised during our Read-A-Thon will go towards new turf, positively impacting each and every one of our students.

Thank you for supporting our fundraiser!

Kia ora,

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your support in making this year’s Read-A-Thon a success!

We are thrilled to announce that through the great efforts of our ākonga/students, and with amazing support from whānau and friends, the Read-A-Thon raised just over $8,000 - this will be a tremendous help towards installing new turf for our school and community to enjoy.

We’d also like to express our gratitude to our generous sponsors (pictured) for printing of our Read-A-Thon booklets and donation of prizes.

We will be celebrating our students for their reading efforts today.

Thank you for being a part of this fundraiser.

Ngā mihi,

St Brigid's Fundraising Team
