Get Your Skates on! We are looking to raise $1.14 million to future proof the Staveley Ice rink.
The Staveley Hall Society has run the Staveley Ice rink in a volunteer capacity for the last 30 Years. The Staveley ice skating rink itself has been open since 1951, this ice rink was one of the few natural ice skating locations left in New Zealand. The natural freezing that occurs can cause some trouble with increasingly warm winters that have been occurring, even when it is hidden away amongst tall trees. The Staveley Hall Society would like to change that and in keeping with the surrounds add a refrigerated base to the rink. How are we going to do it?
Nation wide funding Grants: $400,000
Other Community Funders $200,000
Corporate & Private donations $300,000
Cash $ 75,000
Crowd Funding/Memberships $ 150,000+
If total funds are not raised the committee may take out a community loan to complete this project.
