24-hour Treadmill Challenge to raise funds for the Local Volunteer Fire Brigades and support the volunteers who keep our community safe.

Queenstown, Otago

This year, Cook Brothers Southern Lakes, in collaboration with The Mill, is taking on a 24-hour treadmill challenge to recognise the incredible dedication of our local Volunteer Fire Brigade and raise funds to support their vital mahi.

For 24 hours straight, we'll be keeping the treadmill moving. Day & night, team members and community supporters will take turns walking, running, and tackling fun challenges along the way to keep the momentum going.

Behind every emergency response is a team of around 50 dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills, and commitment serving our community. The Local Volunteer Fire Brigade responds to approximately 400 call-outs each year. Their work extends far beyond fighting fires—they attend motor vehicle accidents, carry out specialist rescues, and provide critical emergency support whenever it's needed, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

These volunteers leave their families, jobs, and daily lives at a moment's notice to help others. Their selfless service makes a real difference, and this challenge is our way of recognising everything they do while helping provide the resources they need to continue their incredible work.

Every donation, big or small, helps support the brigade and the volunteers who keep our community safe.

Please donate if you can, cheer us on throughout the challenge, and help us celebrate the amazing people who are always there when Queenstown needs them most.

Thank you for supporting our local Volunteer Fire Brigade!

Use of funds

Funds raised will help equip the brigade's emergency response vehicle with essential gear and provide gym equipment, giving volunteers a space to train, recover, and decompress after demanding call-outs.
