Stop the damp! The Kauri Museum needs new dehumidifiers.
The Kauri Museum in Northland needs your help to buy four new dehumidifiers to protect our priceless artifacts from mildew and rust.

HELP – MOULD ATTACK! We are reaching out to you today with an urgent appeal to help us raise $3,200 to acquire four new dehumidifiers to safeguard our cherished artifacts.
Although we already have a number of dehumidifiers, the past months of rain have created a need for more – both in the main Museum and in Totara House. We urgently need four new dehumidifiers, and we would really appreciate your support.
Your donation will have a direct impact:
Protecting Priceless Artifacts: With your support, we will be able to purchase four brand new Panasonic dehumidifiers (each $800) so that we can maintain optimal humidity levels within the museum.
Preserving Cultural Significance: Each artifact at the Kauri Museum carries a piece of our history. From the clothing on our mannequins to the photographs on the walls, these items are part of our collective identity.
Every dollar you are able to give brings us closer to our goal of protecting our shared heritage and securing its legacy for generations to come. Your support, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference.
About us
The Kauri Museum in Matakohe, Northland, was opened in 1962. The Museum focuses on the kauri tree, stories relating to kauri industries, and the people of the north Kaipara area.
Use of funds
We will buy dehumidifiers - each $800 - with the funds raised. Our target is to purchase four, but if we don't make our full target, every additional dehumidifier will still be of great benefit.
