Building a storage unit for Hoon Hay food Bank.
Canterbury
Hoon Hay Food Bank is a small non-profit food bank that looks to give food to those who are in need. It is run by Corrin and his whanau at his own house. He spends 6+ days a week balancing out many different tasks in order to give food away, these include (but aren't limited to) picking up food 3-4 times a week in early mornings, organizing people to come around and pick up food from him, organizing the food and sorting through what food is edible and what food isn't. While pursuing this goal to keep everyone fed, Corrin has taken on more food and in doing so, more people to feed. His average number of families fed are 150 per week, this is with people not being able to come each week due to the sheer amount of people needing his help. Due to this, his house has become overfilled with food and it hasn't created the best living environment for him and his whanau, having hallways and entire rooms filled with food. This givealittle page has been created so that he can build a storage unit at the front of his house to keep boxes of fresh food and create a liveable environment for his family.
I am one of Corrins children who goes over to help when I can
All of the money will be spent on building a storage unit for Hoon Hay food bank. Any surplus money will go straight back into the food bank whether it is buying extra food or going towards more storage (e.g fridge/freezer)
