St Patrick’s Cathedral Heritage Foundation has reopened its Givealittle page "Presbytery Restoration Project" because the construction phase of the project took longer than expected to commence. It is now expected the final payments for construction will be made in November 2019.
The Presbytery Appeal was initiated by the St Patrick's Cathedral Heritage Foundation in September 2015.
At the time, the trustees gave themselves two years to find the funding for the project.
Unfortunately, fundraising for the Presbytery has been a much greater challenge than for the Cathedral restoration and has taken more time than expected.
That said, the Cathedral Centre Board got Resource Consent from Auckland Council for the restoration in Jan 2017. Construction started in October 2018. We are very appreciative of the support from the public.
