Stray cats are a problem in the Far North. They end up on the streets because people have let them down. Please help us change their lives.
Northland
We believe cats deserve to be in a home, not living on the streets.
We're concerned about the growing stray cat population in the Far North.
To tackle the problem we (Veronica & Alison) trap stray cats and kittens for desexing, socialising and rehoming.
Our stray cat rescue work is done in conjunction with Donna Doolittle's Animal Rescue Kaitaia and our work is funded by donations from our cat loving supporters.
Each cat we trap costs an average of $150-$200 by the time its been trapped, desexed, housed, socialised and rehomed. Costs cover travel, veterinary attention, cat food & housing.
In the 18 months to January 2021 we've trapped 46 stray cats and kittens in and around Kaitaia. With the rate of stray cat breeding, this means we've already prevented the birth of hundreds of strays.
If you love cats Im sure you'll agree that these poor strays deserve more from life. They've ended up on the streets because people let them down. We're asking for your help to make things right.
Donations will be used to cover the costs of setting and clearing traps, veterinary attention, desexing, food and housing during the socialising period and finally rehoming costs.
Any surplus funds will help us run a program for desexing non-strays.
