Surgery Outcome and Ongoing Support Needed
15 June 2025We wanted to share an update on Donna’s journey. Sadly, the recent surgery was unable to remove the tumour due to it's position and the risks involved. While this news is deeply difficult, Donna and Rikus remain determined to keep fighting with everything they’ve got.
Once Donna has recovered from the surgery, she will begin another round of chemotherapy to help keep the cancer at bay for as long as possible.
The emotional toll is heavy, and so is the financial one. The ongoing costs of frequent hospital visits and specialist appointments continue to mount. On top of that, Rikus has had to take significant time off work to care for Donna and be by her side—something he wouldn't have any other way, but it does put extra strain on their finances.
