Raising funds to ensure the safety and sustainability of Nelson Yacht Club's key infrastructure for future generations.

Nelson

We need your help!

As a club, we are facing a massive challenge to raise the best part of half a million dollars to complete a programme of seismic strengthening on our main building. By doing so, we hope to ensure the sustainability of the club as a hub for community connection, education, sport & recreation on the Nelson waterfront.

Our timelines are tight. We are aiming for a July 2024 start to minimise the impact on the sailing season, the use of the Aurora Lounge venue, and key stakeholders like Nahm restaurant in the adjoining building.

We will be applying for grant support from the Lottery Community Facilities Fund and other agencies, but will need to find a significant amount from the wider community.

About us

A family-friendly club focused on providing educational, recreational and competitive sailing & water-sports opportunities for all in the Nelson and Tasman districts. Host of regional, national and international regattas, and events.

Use of funds

Seismic strengthening and improvements to the club's main building.
