All the struggles, strains, financial implications and stresses caused by being homeless doesnt just disappear once you have a home again
Auckland
Without a doubt Dave always helps in any way, shape or form. His the guy who offers to help you move houses and actually turns up on the day too. He has helped many people out countless times be it for his friends, the boys school or someone who needed help in the community. Dave has 2 sons under the age of 10. He is a great and loving dad, who has always tried to do his absolute best to provide for them.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dave and his family were left homeless back in March and remained homeless for just over 3 months. I was absolutely devastated to find this out from a Stuff article. Dave never once mentioned his hardships despite even having to stay at his storage unit when he had nowhere to go with his son. Talk about kicking a dog when he is down but to make matters worse his income was reduced too. Without a fixed abode he wasnt eligible for any further assistance from WINZ in the form of Accomodation Supplement or Temporary Additional Support which helps others on a benefit. Many financial issues arose due to unpaid bills which only added to the mountain that already was and this caused Dave to lose his vehicle.
After countless failed private tenancy applications Dave finally secured a flat but is still struggling to get back on top of things and make ends meet following the aftermath of being homeless for over 3 months. He still has no vehicle which he urgently requires to get his boys to and from school among other things. Dave said he doesn’t have the affordability currently to get a vehicle on finance since he is trying to get on top of his mountain of unpaid financial bills.
Despite being in the situation that Dave was in, he was the first person that took to Social Media to provide whatever help he could give to a local family that lost everything in a fire recently. He was willing to cancel his sons birthday so another family didn’t have to suffer like his did. Read the story in the Stuff article below
This is the type of person Dave is!!! He won’t ask so I am asking for him
I don’t believe anyone can even try to understand what Dave and his family felt and went through while being homeless but I’m hoping that we as a community could help with whatever we can to get this most deserving family back on their feet and on a path of being whole and happy again.
Help doesn't necessarily have to be in monetary form, if you could share this page with your friends to spread the word would also be greatly appreciated.
We have known Dave for over 5 years now as our sons used to school together. Since then Dave has been an integral part of the family, school and community.
I would like to get any help for Dave and his family to get back up on their feet again
Help Dave and his boys get a cheap vehicle and get on top of his bills and financial commitments that were left unpaid
Desperately praying for better days 12 September 2018
Hi everyone once again thank you all who donated and shared the page around. Your help has been greatly appreciated.
A quick update to advise that we are not far from the goal which will enable this deserving family to be able to get a cheap reliable vehicle as the commute to the boys school alone is not only costing a fortune but is causing undue stress on Dave’s health.
Please help me get the goal so the boys can finally have some good news.
