Heartbreaking sudden paralysis and loss of quality of life for our family dog who is only 4yrs old needing Urgent Expensive Spinal surgery.
Auckland
Our very much loved family dog had sudden paralysis of her back legs and is now unable to walk or urinate on her own. We have been told she needs spinal surgery to remove the possible infringing disk compressing her spinal cord. The surgery alone will cost $12,000 to $17,000 with an extra $8000 possible emergency airway procedure should complications arise during the surgery. Without this surgery we are looking at ongoing medication, catheter cares, regular specialist vet visits, physiotherapy/lazor therapy to give her the best chance of her being able to walk again. We have been told the next 4 weeks are crucial. She is a beloved family member and much loved by the kids.

Update on Lottie 3 November 2023
Hello all!
thank you to all for your generous contributions to our Dear Lottie girl who has and is continuing to make great progress! The last vet specialist appointment it was noted that Lottie has made a 'miraculous recovery' and the vet was so glad they didn't put her to sleep! It just shows you anyrhing is possible and miracles do happen!
Lottie has one more lazor therapy session left next week. These funds have been able to go towards the specialist bills and lazor therapy physiotherapy sessions that has given Lottie the best foot forward in her recovery journey so we thank you all so much. Lottie is still on nerve and pain meds which we hope to wean eventually and the urine incontinence is becoming less and less.
I will post a few videos showing her progress.
