We recently received news that Aaliyahs cancer treatment is not working. Unfortunately, this means this leukaemia is not responding well to chemotherapy or blina immunotherapy. This is a very serious situation because it’s means our first choice, and second choice of therapy are not working. It also means that our planned therapy with allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant is also less likely to work because this disease has been refractory to chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Referral for CAR-T therapy. The recommendation of our team and experts across Australia is that the best therapy is now CAR-T therapy. This therapy cannot be provided in Auckland so we are actively seeking funding from the NZ government to send Aaliyah and family to Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney, Australia who can deliver CAR-T therapy. Her prognosis is very difficult but at this stage the chance of survival is potentially over 50% if we can get CAR-T funding and can deliver therapy promptly.

We need your support to help get Aaliyah the life saving treatment she needs.
