  • Happy Birthday, Lansing! Forever 40!

      30 September 2024

Dear Lansing's Give A Little Whānau,

This is our final update for our fundraising page. It has been a great honor for me and the friends who created this page for Lansing and her three beautiful girls. It’s not just about the page we created, but the loving community that has come together. Lansing read each of your encouraging messages before her passing. Over the last month, we received 212 generous donations along with endless encouragement, prayers, and kindness.

On behalf of Lansing and her beloved family, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all you have contributed and invested in them.

28th September was Lansing's 40th birthday, and we celebrated with her three amazing girls in the style that Lansing would have loved. The girls described their mum as "beautiful, graceful, joyful, kind, helpful, amazing, and loving Jesus." We couldn’t agree with them more.

John 12:24: Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Lansing was like the kernel of wheat. We trust her positive influence will continue to impact her girls, her family, and our community, and we will harvest much fruit in the years to come.

Please continue to keep our three beautiful girls and Lansing’s family in your prayers. Thank you again for your amazing support and love.

    God bless you all.

Proverbs 11:25: A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

  • An update regarding the payee for the raised funds

      18 September 2024

    Dear Give A Little Whanau,

Lansing has nominated her family member, Matthew Chen, as the payee in her will.

The raised funds will be paid to Matthew to cover Lansing's treatment fees, with any remaining amount going to Lansing's three lovely daughters.

The girls are currently with their dad, and they are doing quite well with the support of close family and the church community. We will provide a separate update soon.

Thank you all again for your generous donations and support during this time. It means so much to Lansing and her family.

    Warm regards,

    Linda

  • It has been one week; we miss you, our dearest Lansing

    Dear Family and Friends,

On September 4th, I rushed to the hospital to see Lansing for the last time. She was on oxygen and heavy painkillers. When I arrived, my hands were very cold. As I touched her hand, she opened her eyes and asked with great concern, “How could your hands be so cold?” She then held both of my hands and said, “I will make them warm.” This was so typical of Lansing, always giving warmth and light even at the end, much like a candle.

In her last two months, Lansing was frequently in and out of the hospital. Despite her own pain, she never complained. Instead, she consistently sent prayer requests for others, such as for fellow patients’ healing and for the financial needs of medical staff. When she felt better, she visited other patients to pray and share her beautiful drawings and great encouragement.

It has been one week since Lansing returned to our heavenly home. The outpouring of love and support from the Give a Little community provided financial relief and immense comfort to her family during this time. The funeral was beautiful, filled with God’s grace. We are deeply grateful to Lansing’s two church families- Elim City Church and Belmont Baptist Church for their love and support, making the service possible within two days.

I would like to share a link to photos that celebrate the memory of our beautiful Lansing.

Please continue to lift Lansing’s family in your prayers.
