Please Support Baby Neiko and his parents as he bravely fights Leukaemia Battle!!

Hamilton, Waikato

Our beautiful nephew, Neiko who is only 2 years old has just been diagnosed with high-risk B acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Only two weeks ago, we laid Neiko’s Aunty Estha to rest, and just days after returning home on Thursday the 20th of November Neiko was rushed to Starship Children’s Hospital and on Monday 24th of November our family received this heartbreaking diagnosis.

On the evening of Monday 24th of November Neiko has begun his journey with chemotherapy, and as many will understand, the road ahead is uncertain. While we remain hopeful and strong for him, this is a time filled with fear, love, and unanswered questions.

We have created this page in the hope of raising funds to support our siblings Mckeilah and Tasa so they can take the time they need to be by Neiko’s side for however long it takes. He is currently in Starship Hospital until further notice, and your support will help relieve the financial pressure during this incredibly difficult time so they can focus completely on their precious boy.

Any contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for keeping Neiko and our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Update on Neiko ❤️   13 January 2026

Posted by: Neiko's Mum Mckeilah King

Neiko has completed his 4 week induction to chemotherapy. It’s been a roller coaster of good days and hard days, but Neiko has been incredibly strong and brave. He’s still active, cheeky, eating, drinking, and running a muck whenever he can.

At diagnosis, 80% of his bone marrow cells were leukemia cells. The goal of induction chemo is to rapidly bring that number down.

His biopsy results now show 1.17% leukemia remaining. While remission is classed as 0.01% or lower. This result shows the treatment has worked very well, just not as ideal yet.

Because of this, Neiko remains in the high-risk group & the next steps will be an 8 week , high intensity consolidation chemotherapy. All of which is normal for his cancer treatment. This phase is intended to finish what induction started. After 2 months in hospital care , we were discharged & able to go home for Christmas & New years ❤️ We are now 3 weeks into consolidation chemotherapy where we travel to Starship Sunday - Tuesday & continue daily treatment at Waikato Tuesday afternoon - Saturday. A few ED trips in between but he’s being so strong & happy through it all ❤️

Thank you for the love, support, messages , koha and prayers. We truly believe it’s all carried us this far . This money has taken away so much pressure & has helped us with travel , kai, accomodation, medical costs & everything else in between. There are no words to express how grateful we are ❤️
