Can you help this hero set up his Rwandan environmental organisation?
Auckland
The Green African Institute is entirely the work of a young man called Jean Claude Tuyizere. It aims to create grassroots projects for environmentally focused well-being in and around his rural homelands.
I'm Andy Kenworthy. I'm an experienced environmental professional. I've worked internationally for WWF, Oxfam, Greenpeace and others. I've also been an activist with groups like Extinction Rebellion, Campaign Against the Arms Trade and Reclaim the Streets.
Since Jean Claude reached out to me through my work I've been profoundly impressed. He's committed, tenacious and professional. He's been able to reach out to people in my network. He's attended overseas training and internships.
But he's also endured sickness, financial hardships and all the challenges of trying to establish his organisation in the tough conditions of today's Rwanda.
He's never asked me for money, but I really want to help him, and I hope you do too. My own financial resources are limited - I can provide a lot more value by continuing to volunteer my professional assistance.
The Institute is now a fully established charity under Rwandan law. Any and all funds will go straight to the Institute's official Rwandan bank account.
As you can imagine, anything you give will go a long way there.
I'm operating as an international professional mentor for the Institute's Founder, Jean Claude Tuyizere.
Right now, Jean Claude needs just over $1,000 for accommodation, food, transport, and other logistics to support himself and get the charity online.
Vive to you! Thank you ever so much! Thanks for standing with us!
