While flying to the USA, Casey suffered a serious stroke that has left her with partial paralysis. Help is needed to cover ongoing costs.
Manawatu / Whanganui
On Friday, 16/05/2025 on an Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to New York City, Casey suffered a haemorrhagic stroke that resulted in an emergency flight diversion to Honolulu in order for her to receive life-saving brain surgery.
Thankfully, Casey's surgery went well but as a result of the stroke she is suffering with partial paralysis that has affected some of her motor functions including walking and swallowing. In the upcoming weeks and months, she will undergo intensive acute rehab to regain the control of these functions.
Although Casey is getting the very best care in Honolulu, unfortunately, she isn't covered by insurance for any medical treatment in America. This means the extensive cost of her surgery, ongoing hospital care, and rehabilitation will be entirely out of pocket until such time she is well enough to travel home.
We are reaching out to family, friends, and the general public to help alleviate the financial pressure for Casey and her family so she can focus all of her energy on her healing and recovery.
Donations, social media shares, and messages of support are greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps!
Thank you so much,
