On the 21st of February our good friend Damo aka Damion Miller had an accident in the water. Damo has seriously damaged his spinal cord and is now paralysed from the neck down.
Damo is currently at Sydney’s North Shore hospital and due to recently being denied access to the NDIS and his access to rehab and specialist spinal services his time in a hospital ward here is indefinite and he faces the potential fate of being deported to NZ where he is also not eligible for support from ACC......
Damo is a Howick local and loved playing for his beloved Howick Hornets.
Damo has a young daughter Maddison and partner Celeste in Australia and most of his family live here in NZ.
Damo is one strong dude but physically, spriritually and mentally this is going to be an extremely tough time for him and his family .
The added financial burdon this places on Damo and his young family is immense and will unfortunately be ongoing.
Any support that you could give to help Damo and his family in this devestating time would be much appreciated.
Please show your support tribe and keep praying for a miracle. Kia kaha Damo, arohanui
I've known Damo since school and although our paths have not crossed recently I still hold him in my heart as a dear friend, I hope this can help with Damos medical expenses, ongoing care and whatever support he and his family need in this tough time.

A week or so ago Damo was granted his Australian Permanent Residency (Yay) this gives his access to the NDIS and the assistance that he needs in Australia 😍🤘
