Please help us to support Darcy Hunters wife and kids after his unexpected death. This page will be open for the most difficult first year.
Bay of Plenty
Sadly and unexpectedly Darcy Hunter Junior has died after a battle with cancer at the young age of 42. Prior to his passing Darcy looked to be recovering and was talking about racing Superstocks at the highest level again. We were in the final stages of constructing a give a little page to get Darcy better and back racing when things took a turn for the worse. Darcy suddenly became very ill and passed away.
We know there were a lot of people who would have supported Darcy so we have put this new page up to say the best way you could support Darcy Hunter now is by supporting his wife Moana and Darcy's two young children please.
Darcy was a very humble gentleman who was a peoples champion. He has helped others in many ways which was indicated by the 1000 + people who attended his funeral.
On the day of his funeral, Darcy was given a logging truck and stockcar guard of honour and he was taken to the Rotorua Stockcar track where he did his three final laps. The first was his warm up lap, the second was his final race before he was awarded the checkered flag by one of his good friends Mark Osbourne. Darcy then did his final lap of honour before being awarded his final checkered flag by Sonja Hickey which was placed on his casket.
Darcy Hunter will be remembered as a very talented driver and all round nice guy who won many speedway championships, ran 2 marathons and did Iron Maori events. However, he was also a family man who took a break from racing for his wife and kids and this is a way we can support Darcy Hunter the family man.
So if you are able to, we are asking that you support Darcy Hunter the family man, by supporting his wife Moana and his two young children by giving a little or a lot. Your contribution however big or small is appreciated.
We are close friends of Darcy and his wife Moana and along with the support from Rotorua Stockcar Club we have set this page up to help Darcy's wife and kids in their time of sorrow. If you have ever wanted to help Darcy out over the years here is your opportunity to do so.
Money will be used to help with funeral costs, unveiling costs, and help his wife Moana and the kids get over their tragic loss.
