Our dear friend and neighbour, Andrew, has recently suffered a second stroke

Paraparaumu, Wellington

Our dear friend and neighbour, Andrew, has recently suffered a second stroke – the second in just nine years. As many of you know, Andrew is not only a kind and generous soul, but someone who never hesitates to lend a hand to those around him. Whether it’s fixing something, offering support, or just being there with a warm smile, Andrew has always shown up for his community.

Andrew is incredibly talented and creative – many of you have admired his unique upcycled garden art, where he transforms discarded items into beautiful, whimsical creations that brighten gardens and hearts alike. He has a gift for seeing beauty where others see junk, and his work is a reflection of his own spirit: resourceful, generous, and full of life.

Now, Andrew needs our help

Recovering from a stroke is not just emotionally and physically challenging – it also brings a heavy financial burden.

We’re asking our community to come together and give back to someone who has given so much. Any amount – large or small – will make a real difference in Andrew’s journey to healing.

Let’s show Andrew that his kindness has not gone unnoticed, and that in his time of need, his community stands beside him.

We have been neighbors with Andrew and Linda for about 15 years, we have kids the same age.

Use of funds

Medical costs, rehabilitation, daily living needs, and lost income are mounting, and we want to ease that load so he can focus fully on his recovery.

Thought I'd jump in here one last time to let you all know that Andrew has been home for over a month now and is doing super well, his recovery is coming along faster than we thought and his eye sight is back to normal (well his version of normal anyway) and he's now able to walk without having to use the walker at all.

He's still got a way to go, but the signs are good and the support and love that we've had from everyone has helped him in more ways than anyone will probably know.

Again, thank you for all of your support and love.

Linda
